Academy Herbalist Certification: Become a Certified Christian Herbalist!

herbologist The Christian Academy of Natural Health ("the Academy") offers Christian natural health care certification programs that will equip you for an exciting career as a certified Christian herbalist. Academy registration is free and will allow you to gain access to tuition based certification courses that will build your faith and encourage you in your calling as a Christian herbalist.

Like the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37), Academy certified Christian herbalists are called to a ministry of Biblical healing and natural health care using God's word and His medicinal herbs. From anatomy and physiology (how we are "fearfully and wonderfully made") to herbs and healing, Christian herbalists must be knowledgeable and confident in practicing their vocation and ministry. The Christian Academy of Natural Health is committed to edifying the church body with sincere Christians trained in Bible based herbal medicine and whole health healing.
Academy Certification Programs

Certified Christian Herbalist

Christian Herbalist (CCH) Certification Program

The Christian Herbalist Certification Program will prepare you to serve as a Certified Christian Herbalist (CCH) at the intermediate level. The Christian Herbalist graduate will have the foundational skills, knowledge, and confidence to help others obtain and maintain whole health and wellness using God's natural health care plan and medicinal herbs.

Prerequisite: High School Diploma (or equivalent). And in order to help ensure the Christian integrity of our ministry and certifications, all Academy students must acknowledge and agree with each of the Academy Faith and Commitment Statements.

Required Courses:

  • Biblical Healing: In this course, you will study Biblical healing. Understanding wholeness and healing from a Biblical perspective is vitally important to every Christian herbalist. Do your best to achieve the objectives of this course. As a result, you will be better able to perform your vocation as a Certified Christian Herbalist.
  • Human Anatomy: In this course, you will study human anatomy. Anatomy is the study of body structure. Anatomy and physiology are two subject matter areas that are vitally important to every Christian herbalist. Do your best to achieve the objectives of this course. As a result, you will be better able to perform your vocation as a Certified Christian Herbalist.
  • Human Physiology: In this course, you will study human physiology. Physiology is the study of the functions of the body at the cellular level. Anatomy and physiology are two subject matter areas that are vitally important to every Christian herbalist. Do your best to achieve the objectives of this course. As a result, you will be better able to perform your vocation as a Certified Christian Herbalist.
  • Herbal Wildcrafting: Part of your responsibility as a Christian Herbalist is to be able to find and identify wild herbs that are safe to use as food or medicine. Being able to safely find and identify medicinal herbs in the wild is a tremendous blessing and will help you to grow in your professional knowledge as a Certified Christian Herbalist.
  • Herbal Medicine Making: The medicinal substances used in the art of herbal medicine are obtained from every part of the known world and are selected from all departments of the plant kingdom. The collection and preparation of potent and effective herbal medicine constitutes a very great and honorable responsibility.
  • Materia Medica I: This course will provide detailed lessons for 11 medicinal herbs in our recommended materia medica. Each herb lesson includes (but is not limited to) herbal overview, common and scientific names, historical and principal uses, botany, biochemistry, clinical studies and research, toxicity and contraindications, typical dosages, and references.
  • Materia Medica II: This course will provide detailed lessons for 11 medicinal herbs in our recommended materia medica. Each herb lesson includes (but is not limited to) herbal overview, common and scientific names, historical and principal uses, botany, biochemistry, clinical studies and research, toxicity and contraindications, typical dosages, and references.
  • Materia Medica III: This course will provide detailed lessons for 10 medicinal herbs in our recommended materia medica. Each herb lesson includes (but is not limited to) herbal overview, common and scientific names, historical and principal uses, botany, biochemistry, clinical studies and research, toxicity and contraindications, typical dosages, and references.
  • Intro to Clinical Herbology: This course will introduce you to the history and practice of Christian Clinical Herbology. The goal of this course is to help you organize what you learn into a framework of Biblical whole health care principles and practice modalities.
